Compare a car loan on total repayment, not only the monthly amount. Interest, term, down payment, insurance, fees and early-repayment rules can change the real cost. Ask each lender for a written, personalized offer before choosing a car.
| Lender | What its official page states |
|---|---|
| MCB | Car-loan applications for a vehicle purchase; its application page lists supporting documents. |
| Banco di Caribe | Loans for new and used cars, with terms up to seven years. |
| RBC Royal Bank Curaçao | Personal lending includes loans for new and used vehicles; terms depend on assessment. |
| Vidanova Bank | Car loans for new and used vehicles; new-car terms can run up to seven years and used-car terms depend on vehicle age. |
|---|
This is not an approval ranking. Product limits and eligibility can change, and the lowest monthly payment is not necessarily the cheapest loan.
MCB's published application page asks for items including a valid ID, driver's licence, vehicle order, recent salary slips, an employment letter, information about debts and bank statements when income is paid elsewhere. Other lenders set their own list. Self-employed applicants should ask in advance which financial statements and tax documents are accepted.
Before applying, prepare:
Do not assume an advertised term, rate or percentage applies to your profile or to an older used car.
Ask every lender for the same items: amount financed, down payment, annual interest or APR, all fees, term, monthly installment, total repayment, required insurance, collateral, late-payment consequences and early-repayment conditions. Add road tax, fuel/charging, maintenance and a repair reserve to your monthly ownership budget.
A longer term can lower the installment while increasing total interest and the period in which the balance may exceed the car's resale value. If the loan requires comprehensive insurance, include the actual insurer quote before deciding.
Approval is individual. Residency, income source, employment status, local banking history and vehicle age may affect a lender's decision, but requirements vary. A newcomer should ask lenders directly before relying on finance and keep a cash or temporary-transport alternative.
Alternatives include a larger down payment, a less expensive car, a personal loan, dealer finance or lease. Compare ownership at the end, mileage/use restrictions, insurance, maintenance responsibility, penalties and total cost. Browse suitable cars on Merkado, use the budget-car guide, and have the car inspected before a loan becomes final.
